Aston Martin will keep Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll as its Formula 1 drivers for the 2027 season.

Alonso has agreed an extended contract covering 2027, while the unchanged pairing moves into a fifth season together. The announcement was published on 29 September 2026.

Why it matters

Alonso will continue racing beyond his 45th year, remaining with Aston Martin past his 46th birthday. That gives the team continuity in its cockpit for another season and keeps Stroll alongside him.
