Knicks Pause Karl-Anthony Towns Extension Talks, He Says

What changed

The Knicks have tabled player-extension discussions involving Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns said the development was “news to me,” and related reporting described him as disappointed.

Why it matters

The pause puts uncertainty around Towns’s next contract with New York, without establishing why talks were shelved or when they might resume. For now, the clearest signal is the disconnect: the Knicks appear to have stopped discussions, while their central player says he was not expecting the news.
