What changed

Tanzania’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism has temporarily suspended Kipe Adventures and Safari’s Tourism Business Licence No. 035388, owned by Kipelyani Mkare Olesisian.

The ministry said the action followed complaints that the company collected payments from foreign tourists but failed to pay some service providers, including accommodation operators. Some tourists then had to pay again for services during their trips.

Why it matters

The suspension puts the company’s bookings under scrutiny while the ministry gathers more information under Tanzania’s Tourism Act, its regulations and the licence conditions.

For travellers, the practical lesson is simple: keep payment records, confirm hotel bookings directly with accommodation providers and check that any tourism agent holds a valid licence. A booking receipt alone may not prove that the underlying service has been paid for.

Affected tourists and unpaid providers can submit written complaints with supporting documents to the ministry or other relevant authorities. The length of the suspension and the final enforcement outcome have not yet been established.
