AGC Studios has launched AGC Digital, a division focused on partnering with digital creators to develop entertainment franchises across native digital, microdramas, unscripted, kids and family, scripted television and film.
The unit will draw on AGC’s financing, development, production, marketing, publicity and international distribution capabilities. AGC said the division will help creators expand their ideas, content and audiences while retaining control of their intellectual property.
Jared Jacobs will lead AGC Digital as senior vice president, reporting to Joel Zimmer, president of AGC Unwritten. Jacobs previously worked on digital strategy, creator partnerships and new intellectual property at Warner Bros. Unscripted Television and Night Studios.
AGC Studios, which has credits across more than 50 films and television series, did not announce specific projects, budgets, creator agreements or release dates. The launch positions the company to move creator-developed ideas across multiple formats and markets.
