Ang Geck Geck Priscilla’s ‘Ah Girl’ Selected as Toronto Centrepiece

Ang Geck Geck Priscilla’s feature debut, Ah Girl, has been selected as a Centrepiece title at the Toronto Film Festival for its North American premiere, according to Variety.

The Singaporean director spent more than a decade developing the drama, making three short films and taking part in a decade of festival labs before completing the feature. The film draws from her own childhood.

For global film audiences, the selection places a Singaporean debut shaped through long-form development on an international festival platform. It also makes Priscilla’s gradual path from short films and labs to a first feature part of the film’s story, alongside the work itself.
