Brandi Carlile will be inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame during the program’s 2026-27 season premiere, with Bonnie Raitt joining her for a performance of Raitt’s “Love Me Like a Man,” according to Variety.
The hour-long episode, centered largely on Carlile’s latest album, “Returning to Myself,” premieres Saturday on most PBS stations at 8 p.m. CT and 9 p.m. ET. It will also stream at PBS.org and on the PBS App. Season 52 episodes will be available free on the ACLTV YouTube channel.
Variety is also premiering a second duet recorded during the taping. Carlile and Raitt perform John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery,” which Raitt helped bring to wider public attention in the 1970s. The song will appear as a web-only bonus rather than in the PBS broadcast.
Raitt introduces Carlile as an Austin City Limits honoree, praising her vocal range and songwriting. Carlile recalls first visiting Austin more than 20 years ago with Tim and Phil Hanseroth in a Chevrolet van called White Lightning, saying she wanted Tex-Mex and to find where Austin City Limits was taped.
The episode gives music audiences a rare pairing of two generations of acclaimed singer-songwriters while keeping the focus on a career honor, live performance and Carlile’s new material.
