Celine Dion opened Paris Fashion Week on 29 September with a surprise performance of her 2002 hit “I’m Alive” beneath the Eiffel Tower, appearing at the end of L’Oréal’s annual show.
Wearing a full-length ruched black velvet gown, Dion was later joined on the runway by L’Oréal ambassadors Viola Davis, Simone Ashley, Aja Naomi King and Eva Longoria.
The performance follows Dion’s comeback appearance in Paris earlier this month. She was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in 2022, and her previous reported concert was in New Jersey in 2020, before the Covid pandemic disrupted her tour.
The appearance does not confirm whether Dion plans a full concert tour or any further performances.
Paris Fashion Week, which features women’s spring/summer collections, runs through 6 October. Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne also walked in the L’Oréal show, while Rihanna and Cynthia Erivo were among the prominent guests in Paris.
