Cindy Holland confirmed her departure from Paramount on Sept. 29, with her exit coming shortly before Paramount Skydance’s planned $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery closes.
Holland said in a staff memo that Sept. 29 would be her last day. She wrote that CEO David Ellison had made a decision about streaming leadership and was prioritizing “HBO stability” for the next phase of the combined businesses.
Casey Bloys is reportedly poised to oversee HBO, HBO Max and Paramount+ after the merger, although his appointment has not been confirmed. JB Perrette, Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming and gaming chief, has also been linked to the potential leadership structure, but his involvement remains unconfirmed.
Holland joined Ellison’s team in January 2025. Before Paramount, she spent 18 years at Netflix, including nine as vice president of original content, helping establish the strategy behind programs including “House of Cards,” “Stranger Things,” “The Crown,” “When They See Us” and “The Queen’s Gambit.”
In her memo, Holland said the direct-to-consumer division had made strategic and organizational changes while delivering growth in revenue, profit and subscribers. She did not provide figures.
