HBO and Sky Television’s eight-episode divorce thriller War centers on tech billionaire Morgan Henderson, played by Dominic West, and A-list actress Carla Duval, played by Sienna Miller, as their marriage collapses under public scrutiny and legal pressure, according to Variety’s review.
Created by George Kay, the series begins with Morgan receiving a prestigious award in London before an affair intensifies the couple’s already strained relationship. In Paris, Carla prepares to serve him divorce papers through lawyers Serena Byrne and Nick Taylor, while Morgan brings in his own formidable legal team.
The review describes the story as a hostile takedown in which courtroom strategy, crisis public relations and personal betrayal become tightly intertwined. Carla and Morgan’s 16-year-old son, Gabriel, is also drawn into the fallout.
Variety praises West and Miller for making the former couple’s lingering affection believable, even during their most damaging confrontations. The review also highlights the contrast between Carla and Morgan’s marriage and the more stable but vulnerable partnership of Serena and Nick.
The report does not establish the series’ audience performance, renewal status or future distribution plans.
