The thriller short film Jack & Christine released its first trailer on Sunday, ahead of its world premiere at Beyond Fest. The film stars John Hawkes, Luke Barnett, and Nikki Lorenzo.
In the story, a married couple named Jack and Christine host a dinner party that turns chaotic when a guest from their past arrives. Luke Barnett plays Jack, while Nikki Lorenzo takes on the role of Christine. John Hawkes plays the unexpected guest.
Noam Kroll, the writer and director, described the film as a chamber piece tailored to the three actors. He noted a long-standing fascination with anxiety and paranoia, specifically when those feelings begin to manifest as reality. Kroll cited a line from Joseph Heller's Catch-22 to summarize the theme: "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you."
The production team includes Kroll, Richard Handley, Sheldon Brigman, Jennifer Kroll, and Dave Thies. The film is set to premiere at the Beyond Fest event this coming Sunday.
