Netflix Developing ‘Diablo’ Animated Series

Netflix is developing an animated series set in Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo universe, according to reporting by Deadline.

Blizzard chief Johanna Faries announced the project at BlizzCon in Anaheim on Saturday. The company said the series is being developed with Netflix, but did not disclose its creative team, story details, release date or episode count.

“More details will be shared in the future,” Blizzard said in a statement, describing the project as part of a broader effort to tell stories from its game universes beyond gaming.

Diablo debuted in 1996, followed by releases in 2000, 2012 and 2023. Blizzard also announced that Diablo V is scheduled to arrive in spring 2029.
