Tubi has set R.L. Stine’s Afraid of Clowns, an original horror film from the Goosebumps author, for release in 2027.
Frankie Honey, Ava Ferrer, Azriel Dalman, Joe Moore and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 8 champion Jimbo star in the film. The story follows Frankie as she investigates whether the arrival of Ringmaster Rollo and his mysterious clown troupe is connected to a child who disappeared years earlier. She fears the troupe is now targeting her younger brother.
Jem Garrard, who wrote and directed the two Pumpkinhead films, serves as writer-director. Front Street Pictures is producing, with James Mattagne, Joan Waricha, Harvey Kahn, Yvonne Bernard, Dan Bernard, Garrard, Allen Lewis and Rama Diallo among the producers.
The film is the third reported collaboration between Tubi and Stine. R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead premiered on the streamer in October 2025, while Pumpkinhead 2 is scheduled to debut Oct. 9. Tubi has not announced a precise release date or additional distribution details for Afraid of Clowns.
