United Talent Agency is consolidating its film, television literary and talent operations into a new Filmed Entertainment unit led by Matt Rice, who has been promoted to president.
Allan Haldeman, Blair Kohan, Jay Gassner and Julien Thuan will serve as managing partners. Amanda Hymson and Jordan Lonner will lead Motion Picture Literary, while Lucinda Moorhead and Mickey Berman will oversee TV Literary.
Talent representation will be led by Hanley Baxter and John Sacks alongside longtime talent chief Mike Jelline. UTA is also forming a Filmed Entertainment board that includes Jelline, Berman, Moorhead, Jason Burns, Marissa Devins, Dan Erlij, Chris Hart, Jason Heyman, Keya Khayatian, Rich Klubeck, Billy Lazarus, Gregory McKnight, David Park, Theresa Peters, Shani Rosenzweig and Larry Salz.
Rice joined UTA in 2002 after beginning his career at the Broder Kurland literary agency. His clients have included Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Michael Schur, Alec Berg, Bill Hader, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Will Forte, James Gunn and others.
UTA chief executive David Kramer said the new structure reflects the increasing convergence of film and television and the changing influence of digital platforms. The report does not establish whether the restructuring will affect client rosters, staffing levels or financial results.
