What changed

Indian fintech startup Oolka is reportedly in advanced talks to raise about $45 million, or nearly Rs. 430 crore, from Bessemer Venture Partners, Prosus and existing investors.

The proposed round could value the Bengaluru-based company at roughly $200 million, more than double its reported $90 million valuation in April 2026. The transaction has not been officially announced, so the final amount, investors and valuation may change.

Why it matters

Oolka is building an AI-based credit-management platform for credit scores, loans and equated monthly instalments. Its pitch is less “ask a chatbot anything” and more “help me fix this financial problem”: explain why a score fell, identify repayment trouble and guide users through the next steps.

That makes the proposed valuation notable. Oolka had reportedly raised about $21 million before this round, including a $7 million seed round and a $14 million Series A led by Accel. A jump toward $200 million in roughly six months suggests investors are placing greater value on AI products tied to a specific financial task.

The money could help Oolka improve its AI agents, expand its consumer product, hire engineering and financial-services staff, and build partnerships with banks and lenders. None of that spending has been publicly detailed, however.

The harder test is trust. A credit platform handles sensitive information about income, loans and repayments, while bad guidance can directly affect someone’s borrowing options or costs. Oolka will need to make its recommendations accurate, transparent and easy to understand as it competes with CRED, Axio, CreditMate, banks and other financial apps.
